Problem burning with BenQ DW1650 purchased from Compusa

Tonight I purchased a NORWOOD MICRO 16x burner (BenQ 1650) from CompUSA I crossflashed the drive with no problems with BQFlasher using BCIC firmware. I have Nero v7 installed, when i burn a movie it goes through the process of burning, it take around 5:00 minutes to complete. When I look to see what files are on the DVD, the DVD is empty. I noticed during the burn the light on the front of the burner was slowly blinking green.

Anybody have any idea what is wrong? Maybe a bad firmware upgrade?

I have the log file from nero if anybody would like to see it.

Thanks

Welcome with your first post.

Make sure simulate box is not ticked.

Post us the Nero log. Remove any serial number and put log in CODE wrap, “#” symbol in reply/posting window.

hehe that was the first thing I checked, simulate box is not checked.

I have been buring DVDs for a few years now so I have done this many times, but never with a BenQ.

I just tested with a CDr I got the same results

When a blank CD/DVD is in the BenQ the green light is solid

FYI, This machine is only for burning. It has the OS, Nero, QSUite 2.1, DVD Decrypter, DVD Shink and WinDVD

Here is my log.

Try using Imgburn to burn your discs with your 1650 and see if you have the same problem.

Here is the log from ImgBurn.

You will notice near the end there are 30 read Sector error’s when imgburn ended it popped up an error (see attachment) I kept clicking continue then finally clicked cancel after 30 of the pop ups

Should I redo the firmware? Would I just double click on the BCIC.EXE?

Thanks

This is a driver / burning software problem.

I uninstalled Nero and burned the img with imgburn, the movie burned just fine. I reinstalled Nero and noticed that InCD is not check by default, I didn’t check it to install the first time… Ohh well, I tried a different movie and it was also good burn. I will test a few more movies tomorrow. So it looks like my problem is solved I guess. Maybe it was a bad Nero install.

Thanks again guys
