Probably Stupid Question about media but

I am at a DVD +R selling web page and the resusts seem curious

As firstly

Disk 1: --ADVDINFO: MCC 003/CMC MAG E01

Disk 2—ADVinfo: CMC MAG E01/MCC 003

These seem the disks with me, one is a datasafe, the other Datawrite.

Second Curious is this

Cheap bulbaqs use : MCC 003
Very Expensive verbatum: MCC 003

Anthother disk.
ADVDINFO: PRODISC R03

Now out of all them which would you recommend to buy, as thats why ive dont this i need a relieable set of +R’s that i can afford (~£25./100)

Therefore only one out of my price range is the Verbatim, but is the Bulpaq just a repackaged Verbatim.

Thanks

I don’t know the answer all those questions, but I can tell you that while Bulkpaq uses the Verbatim dye, they use extremely low grade discs. From what i’ve seen you’re lucky to pass data verification on most of these discs.

Ritek R03s are variable in quality but they are usually cheap and can provide decent burns even at their worst depending on your brand of drive.

Bulkpaq probably doesn’t use Mitsubishi dye, they probably just steal the MCC 003 identifier and throw them on their disks.

I think they are distributed by laser, the same company that distributes a whole range of very crappy disks under their own name, often using stolen identifiers.

Buy real verbatim, burn them at the rated speed, and you can hardly go wrong. Not cheap, but cheap disks are ussually nasty disks.

It’s SVP, you know why the first disk was MCC003 and now it’s sell as MCC003/CMCMAG E01. I’m maybe the first to get a bad batch and ask for exchange about that.

"Hi,

Thank you for your e-mail.

I am very sorry the information on the site was wrong and thank you for letting us know. We do check every pallet but if it is mixed half way down this is very hard to catch."

Ive just bought some of them BULKPAQ DVD+R from SVP advertised as MCC 003 but they are PRODISC R03 when I checked them.
see below.

Not happy, they new days ago they weren’t MCC 003 and even now still advertising them as MCC 003. Even if as rugger was saying balkpaq used wrong/misleading identifier SVP should now were they are buying them from and be honest with their customers. (There again they probably been shafted who wants to buy prodisc anyway).

I wonder what trading standards would say. I’ll give them a call and let you know what they say!!

Prodisc did this a few months ago in the US. We could get any of 5 different media codes and even the distributor couldn’t tell what they had. That fiasco moved most of us to TY.
