Princo DVD-R

The ×24 should be thicker actually.
Disc drive engines are strong enough to spin a DVD with ×32 CAV. But that would potentially cause an explosion.
25000 rpm = CD stress limits.
But ×52 is somewhere around 11000rpm.

But 24x is named “slim”, 16x not

And if the MID is the same, the 24x will not written faster

The only difference between the 16x and 24x appears to be the thickness of the media. The slim 24x discs are noticeably thinner, and feel flimsy. I wouldn’t trust them at 24x.

@Tester1 - Thanks for the info. I’ll have to check some of my Pioneer drives to see if they support this MID > 16x.

Scans of the 24x Princo on a BDR-209D can be found at:

Thank you.

Extreme different scan results, especially the used 1620 seems to be very sensitive.

Some LiteOn are very good readers

This media is something special, you can have better results than with actual MCC, but rarely at high scan speed

Yes, nice discs. Very old and still writable

Yep

But still I wonder about Princo, they like to use one MID for different speed-declaration. My Lifetec have no speed-declaration (or I don´t see it), so I guess it would be 1x for DVD-R (DVD+R started with 2,4x, so no declartion should be 2,4x). But Princo sold the MID PRINCO also as 4x

24x have the same MID like my 16x
