I’ve had AnyDvd & CloneDvd for awhile so I haven’t paid any attention to what the two softwares cost nowadays. My nephew though just asked what to get for decrypting and backing up dvds and I said get AnyDvd and CloneDvd they work great and they have specials on them once in awhile.

I went to their website to price the two and even with a 20% discount it looks to be about $81.74 for the package am I reading this right because I know I only paid around $55 when I purchased mine?

They recently switched from the dollar to the Euro which resulted in a price increase (I believe it was due to the devaluation of the dollar).

My nephew’s going to college so I doubt he could pay that much is there similar software that’s a little cheaper?

There are a number of free options that involve ripping to your drive, compressing if needed and burning to a disc but you might want to take a look at DVDfab.

Also look at:

and imgburn (free) at http://www.imgburn.com/

as well as the imgburn guides at http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showforum=4

They are worth the price you pay for both software…downside to free dvdfab HD you have to use DL media…imgburn haven’t used it much…as Anydvd in taskbar doesn’t let it run properly…hmmm…But Anydvd with CloneDVD together is worth the price…Plus Anydvd lets you play HD video without more hardware…a plus…also it Rips BD apart…

Careful Gummigutta - this is the AnyDVD forum (and perhaps the Fab forum, too).

ImgBurn and AnyDVD work perfectly fine together except in the verifying stages. Just disable AnyDVD when burning.

All of these programs are either free or have free trials. I suggest the user try and them and them decide what meets his requirements.
