I believe that CloneCD can read the pregap information. At least with my multimedia audio CD.
I have a JLMS 165H (CH11 - Region Free :)) and I also had this multimedia audio CD. It wasnt being read by either my 165H or my 5246S so I made an image of it using the Multimedia Audio CD profile and mounted it in Daemon Tools.
Heres my proof regarding the pregap. I havent tried with a SafeDisc game but who knows. Prehaps its only hardware dependant?
Anyway, I found this to be interesting.
