Power calibration errors, again

Hello,

I have an AD-7173A, and I get this error whenever I try to burn a DVD.
The problems started after a few hardware changes (new main board, new PSU, new HDD).

Here’s what I tried:

  • AFAICT I use good media (MCC 03RG20 – correct me if I’m wrong). This media has worked for me before with this drive.
  • The drive shared its PSU cable with an HDD. I managed to temporarily get a cable for the burner alone. This worked once, by the way (doing this required disconnecting 2 out of 3 of my HDDs so I had to restore the old condition after burning. Next time I tried to do the same changes, the power calibration errors didn’t go away)…
  • switching connectors, and moving the drive from slave to master (jumpered accordingly).
  • upgrading firmware to unmodified 1-03 (was 1-01).
    …and I’m out of ideas.

Thanks in advance for any help…

Itay

Which brand are they?

Verbatim.

Discs from the same package have worked before.

Then test the drive in another computer.

You are using DVD-R media, so each disc is different.

Will try.
