Power Calibration Error

My 1635s burner was working fine but recently it has not worked properly. I tried several times, it sometimes works but mostly no. It tries to do the lead-in but eventually it fails, and Nero reports it as a “Power calibration error”.

I’m using the patched firmware -> 1635S.YV6P.patched-fbd-rs

Any ideas? My 832s burner broke down after 2 years or so, and now this burner seems to be broken down. Maybe I’m unlucky, or something I don’t want to access is Lite-on is crappy

Can you post your burn log on this drive? This will help us out.

The first thing leads into a “Power calibration error” is unsupported or cheap media.

Please post a logfile and the mediacode.

The disc is actually the same one I used a few months ago, they are neither cheap or unsupported. I’m still using the same burning software as well (same version that is as well)

Chef is right you need more RAM. It’s cheap these days so if your system can handle it I would double it to 1GB.

It works now, I don’t know why, but I just tried the other discs in the spindle, and it works. I gotta try that disc again, but yea all I did was reflashed drive, reset OPC history, etc.

In terms on RAM, I don’t know why I had only that much left, but I don’t do anything intensive on my computer. Backing up of DVD’s is probably the most intensive operation I do on my computer, so everything actually runs pretty smooth.
