You don’t want to see what these look like in my 1653S :Z

Not the drives favorite media but still a perfect 16x read scan

About as good as I would expect from this media. The error mountain is the same in all of my drives but the PIEs stay under control with a 93 quality score and a perfect 16x read scan. At least it burns at 8x in the 1693S. It’s only 6x inthe 1653S.

I shelved this media because it was so bad in all of my other drives, including the NEC 3500. I think this is an excellent result considering this :).

Accidently burned this one at 8x after leaving some OP2 test firmware in the drive. Good result :). Glad I didn’t waste my time burning it at 4x…

Why’s this thread locked? confused

So what brand would you reccomend for me to purchase when I get my drive back?

DVD±R @ 8x and 16x (which would be best?)
and
DVD±RW @ 8x for +R and @6x for -R.

Thanks.

It’s really not that easy to suggest what media to buy. It depends on what brands you have available where you are. Just look at the results in this thread and make your own decision based on what you can get.

Hopefully other posters in this thread will state the brand name and the media ID code, to help members like yourself

No litey I’ve ever owned has gotten a good scan w/ this media (i consider good @ sub 50 PI’s). I wonder what I’m doing wrong, my Plextor 716A burns these like a champ.
