What kind of IDE adapter are you guys using to connect your DW1620s on modern PCs? I have a JMicron PCI-E SATA/IDE combo card and the buffer drops out when burning at 16x using the DW1620; DW1640 and DW1655 work fine.

Burner: DW1620@EW162I
Firmware: 47P9
Media: Sony 8x DVD+R (MIJ)
MID: YUDEN000 T02
Stamper Code: TG001162 1103
Hub Serial: 1G529A100933PG
Burn Speed: 12x (16x selected)
Burning Software: Opti Drive Control 1.70

This was in an external USB case. As you can see, even with the EW162I firmware, the buffer ran out.

Hi, Two Degrees. My DW1620 and DW1640 are both connected to an SIIG UltraATA 133 PCI card.

Ah, I see. None of my motherboards have legacy PCI slots.
