Binflash should be able to handle the 724xS series.
I’ve already tried Binflash but it doesn’t work yet with iHASxxx Optiarc drives. When trying to dump the firmware it gives a “Drivetype could not be determined” error message.

Someone might like to have a copy of the iHAS120 6 7L0P firmware, which LiteON hasn’t released so far it seems. I’ve dumped it from a recently made eZAU120 external drive which came with this firmware on board.

On LiteOn website there is a firmware version for iHAP322 8 called UL15N, dated 10/05/2009 15:52:59.
http://www.liteonit.com/DOWNLOADS/ODD/iHAP322/firmware/UL15N.exe

My questions:

 1. Is it newer, than UL19? (or just the shown date is misleading), If yes, what could be the reason to step back with the numbering?
 2. Can I update my crossflashed Optiarc AD-7220A directly with this exe or should I ask someone who has retail Liteon iHAP322 to make an unencrypted exe for me (with flashing the drive and then read out the firmware method)?

Thank you for your help in advance.

Thanks a lot! :smiley: But this is a scrambled firmware, so i can´t flash it on my Liteon 20A4P. I would be great if someone can provide a *.bin file.

#443

The executable seems to contain 2 different firmwares. One has an internal idenfication code “DH20A4HLD” while the other one just says “DH-20A4P”. I tried to extract both files from the executable and added them to a RAR file.

Since I’m not very familiar with LiteOn firmwares, there could be something wrong with the files that I created. They could even break your drive. Please be aware of this before you try to download and flash this firmware!

@QuiCo

The dh20a4hld.bin is an “S”-type firmware (SHARP LD) while the other one is “A”-type. If you want to use these bins to flash your drive, make sure you use the correct one for your LD type (the Flash Utility should indicate this or you could just dump your current firmware and search for the SHARP LD string in it - if its there is “S”-type if not is “A”-type).

The most important thing though - before you do anything else - is to make sure you back up your current firmware and EEPROM and keep those safe! :wink:

:cop: Do not use these files to flash a drive as this kills the drive.:cop:
@Liggy: Please remove the file you uploaded. The Liteon flasher package is not just packed, some bytes are also scrambled. One byte every 2k is wrong in the files you supplied.

#446

Files removed again.

#448

Thanks for your help guys. Anyhow maybe someone can unscramble this firmware. :slight_smile:

@cvs
Thanks for the info. I´m already familiar in flashing drives. I have an A-type firmware.

#449
I have an A-type firmware.
In that case, this is your lucky day :bigsmile:

I’ve got a dump of the 9M74 “A” firmware which I downloaded from this forum quite a while back (I haven’t got the “S” one unfortunately). You can flash it to your drive and then update it to 9M75 using the official MBI flasher :wink:

Once you’ve got the 9M75 on board, please let us have an unscrambled copy :flower:

If someone can share with us an unscrambled copy of the “S” firmware that would be great!

HO HO HO! You’ll never guess what Santa has in store for you today :bigsmile:
Yes, its the unscrambled 9M75 firmware! (both “A” and “S”). Thanks Santa … or should I say … may the Force be with you! :flower:

Tried and tested on my external LiteON DX-20A4P drive :wink:

Given that the 9M75 firmware is dated 2008/10/21 that will make it the latest available firmware for a DH-20A4P drive! In contrast, the latest available firmware from LiteON (9P59) is dated: 2008/01/14.

@ cvs, ala
