Lots of thanks, finally an “update” for PX-B940SA… Has anybody crossflashed it yet? What steps should I take?

Greetings

Answering myself, you only need dvrflash to crossflash PX-B940SA to BDR-205, the sad news is that this crossflash won’t still let you update with official Pioneer firmwares:

Primera’s firmware are S1014491.xxx and Pioneer’s are S1014001.xxx

But hey, at least I now have firmware v11.

Indeed … and you can always go back to the Plextor firmware in case they ever bother to release a newer update than the Primera one since ironically enough there’s a kernel available for the PX-B940SA so crossflashing back is possible …

That’s the main reason I’ve decided to crossflash my Plextor as if something goes wrong I can always come back to its original firmware (it’s the first time I’ve herad from Primera).

It is not true.

So you’ve got a BDR-S05 ID43 Kernel then? Can we have a copy pretty please?

What does the kernel firmware do? Is it possible to flash a BDR-206 to a BDR-S06 yet?

The screenshot shows the drive going from a Plextor to a BDR-205, not a BDR-S05. Where did you get the idea that someone has a BDR-S05 kernel?
The screenshot shows the drive going from a Plextor to a BDR-205, not a BDR-S05.
No it doesn’t! It shows a BDR-S05 drive (kernel ID43).
Where did you get the idea that someone has a BDR-S05 kernel?
Because that’s what the second picture shows?
What does the kernel firmware do?
It allows to crossflash a drive to that particular model using DVRFlash. Each model has a different kernel. If a kernel is not available for a particular model then you can’t crossflash to that model.
Is it possible to flash a BDR-206 to a BDR-S06 yet?
No because so far there’s no BDR-S06 kernel available … if someone has one then feel free to contradict me please!

#261
No it doesn’t! It shows a BDR-S05 drive (kernel ID43).

Because that’s what the second picture shows?
OK, sorry. My mistake, I guess.

I just saw the words "Pioneer BDR-205" on the second screenshot, at the top. I guess the computer reads the drive name of a BDR-S05 as a BDR-205?
