Listen.com signs deal with Verizon to distribute music

Listen.com has signed a deal with the Internet Service Provider Verizon to distribute the music from their Rhapsody music service to Verizon customers. For less than $10 a month, Verizon Online DSL customers can subscribe to Rhapsody.

For this fee they will have unlimited online access to more than 240,000 tracks from top artists and more than 18,000 CD-quality albums. Unfortunately the service only supports streaming.

Rhapsody subscribers enjoy unlimited online access to more than 240,000 tracks from top artists and more than 18,000 CD-quality albums. Also, they can listen to one of the service's professionally programmed Internet radio stations or be their own DJ by building a customized Internet radio station with music from up to ten of their favorite artists. Additionally, Rhapsody subscribers can share musical discoveries with a wider community of friends by building and sharing playlists of their favorite songs.

As a special introductory offer, Verizon Online is offering a free month of Rhapsody to customers who sign up by October 31.

"DSL customers are ideally equipped to enjoy Rhapsody because their broadband connection gives them greater speed and convenience," said Sean Ryan, president and chief executive officer of Listen.com. "Rhapsody provides unlimited access to a compelling service with thousands of albums and artists from every genre of music."
