Hey all,

Im a new Nec 2500 owner and thus new to this great forum :stuck_out_tongue:

I have a bunch of Ritek R02 dvd+rโ€™s.
Is it possible to burn these at 8 speed, and if so which firmware do i need to do this?

Tnx in advance,

Sharkey

As I recall, no.

Herrie has said because of quality issues with the Ritek discs, he was not going to add an 8x write support for them.

That could have changed. You can search the threads to learn more, or just install the latest firmware and try it yourself.

Strange i thought that Ritek was a good brand, mmmm must be misinformed then. (they are from Ritek brand itself with R02 01h)

Oh well,

It seems iโ€™m stuck at 4x
Tried the latest b8 firmware and the ugly 4 is the max.
Only 49 specimens to go then

But thanks for your quick answer.

Herrie: maybe in the future then .

My friend had quite some of these. We tried all 8x DVD+R strategies, but these R02โ€™s werenโ€™t even able to handle 6x correctly :โ€™(

Tnx for the reply Herrie.
At least I know you did your utmost

Guess I have to life with those things then.

Anyway its only 4 hours of extra burntime  compared to 8x
