Taken from the CDFreaks’ front page. Tidbit of the article:

As Hollywood prepares to lower prices of Blu-ray movies to help convince consumers to adopt Blu-ray technology, one industry is doing fine in the current sluggish economy. Thanks to a large audience across the world, the porn – excuse me, adult entertainment – industry has remained strong, and sales have been impressive.

Even though some consumers are less likely to go out and enjoy dinner and a movie on Friday night, they remain interested in purchasing adult content.

The customer demand for Blu-ray has been “phenomenal and growing,” CDFreaks was told by a Digital Playground spokesperson.

Considering the amount I believe Digital Playground spent on its latest “blockbuster” film, I hope the movies are selling well! Even Netflix announced that it is having trouble due to the economy, but at least we know the porn industry is still going strong!

Thoughts?

They are doing good because they got a bailout loan from the USA.

Well, what’s cheaper than staying at home & playing with your joystick?

Edit Oops, did I confuse this with a thread about console game sales soaring? Oh never mind /edit

The auto industry could learn a lesson or two about part interchangeability, longer service and positioning themselves for hard times. You can’t always be on top but sometimes working you way from the bottom up can serve you intended target. There should also be mentioned that automobiles needs large amounts of lubrication, so much more, if the auto is older. More compact models seem to do better and have better mileage than cumbersome overweight ones. Smaller models also allow for the use and possession of one or more of the units.
