I just received my PX-B940SA today, and as 2601 said, the drive is indeed a Pioneer BDR-205 clone as expected

The drive was manufactured in October 2009 and mine came with fw 1.03 too. Here are some pictures of the drive:

BDR-203 writes these discs way better than this (see http://club.myce.com/f142/pioneer-bdr-203-bdr-s03-buffalo-br-pi816fbs-304559/#post2465683)…

A new firmware for the Pioneer BDR-205 v1.4. !
Can I upload them to the Plextor PX-B940SA?

Plextor PX-B940SA doesn’t support bitsetting for DVD+R as Pioneer BDR-205, or on the contrary it can be set to DVD-ROM?

Greetings

I’m sorry to double post, but as I said here: http://club.myce.com/f142/firmware-1-04-plextor-px-b940-308484/#post2496016

My PX-B940SA is having problems when reading some disks burned with firmware 1.03 (I’ve only burned one with firmware 1.04 and it’s ok)… The drive will start making weird noises as if the diks wasn’t properly retained in the tray and it “jumped” when it starts spinning, but these same disks are perfectly read without any issue in my standalone player.

Do you think it’s a problem of the drive or it’s a media problem?

Greetings
