[/B]Could you check if your factory Plextor PX-891 SAF operates diagnostic module in PlexUtilities? In my crossflash after the ihas 124 F does not work but it may be that the program no longer works properly with models from VinPower.
Thank you in advance

czary2mary1 - Looks like it’s an issue with VinPower models.

Thank you very much for checking and confirmation test.
Probably software from VinPower is tailored only to PlexTool of this company.

For anyone who purchased this drive and is looking for VinPower’s new PlexTools Lite software, it is now available for download on the Plextor website:

http://www.goplextor.com/Support/Downloads

The software also came with the retail box version of the drive.

EDIT: hrmmm the goplextor version of Plextools might not be what I think it is…despite being listed as a download for the PX-891SAF. It is only about 4MB, whereas the Plextools Lite that came with the retail box is closer to 40MB…I don’t have access to a Windows machine right now so can’t check personally - sorry.

This looks like a tool for SSD drives. When I ran it, it didn’t say anything about dvdr drives.

(I was bored this evening).

Just to see what happens, I decided to crossflash my ASUS DRW-24F1ST c drive (with a September 2015 manufacturing date) with the PX891SAF firmware that was posted earlier in this thread (starting from the previous iHAS124 F CL99 firmware crossflash).

czary2mary1 showed that this could be done in the Flash Utility thread:

Much to my surprise, the “getting lost and not going to full speed” behavior that I’ve been rambling about in the iHAS124 F threads on the LiteOn subforum, is actually almost absent. Also no strange “spark discharging noises”.

Need to do more research to see whether this is indeed the case, or if this is just a fluke. I’ll continue with followups on the iHAS124 F thread, instead of on this thread.
