This problem has occurred on every DVD I’ve tried to back up, including “Finding Nemo†(Don’t Laugh. You know you cried when the barracuda ate Nemo’s mom. ) When I begin to rip the DVD, it usually goes well for the first 20% then after that the drive will randomly, but inevitably hang up. I receive no message, and no activity. I have found a painful workaround is to power off the PX-740 and power back on. This forces an error message from CloneDVD2 “Processing error: E:/VIDEO_TS/VTS_1_2VOB: read error, The system can not find the file specified. If reading the media failed, please clean the surface and try again.†When I power back on and the disk spins up, I hit “retry†and it picks up the rip where it left off. The only problem is that it will do this dozens of times. So far I have had the patience to copy only 1 DVD (“Finding Nemo†of course). If this is a protection system problem, I thought AnyDVD was supposed to prevent it from affecting the rip. Also, just to be clear, this is during the ripping. The write phase works great. Any help will be appreciated.
