I just posted the article Plextor PX-716A DVD Recorder.
Plextor has finally released a DVD writer, model PX-716A, that supports double layer recording. Can the drive keep up with today's competitors? Read this review to find out!

A nice review! The main conclusion about it for me is to not worry about the innovative technologies PowerRec, AutoStrategy, VariRec, (which was not reviewed), and just give it what it craves, Taiyo Tuden 8x +R and it burns and reads with the best.
just got one and it has on front DVD-R DL 6x DVD+R DL 6x by firmware upgrade but now seen eny on site that mite do this but it looks nice hmm :S
"PoweRec too sensitive; with PoweRec enabled 16x writing is not possible." Isn't that what the powerec is for; to improve quality at a small speed penalty? You're missing the whole point here. Mt Rainier not supported. Oh my Gosh! Now I will certainly never-ever buy this drive. Come on, who cares...
This article lists PowerDVD XP 4 as the latest ... but 6 is actually the latest. Plus I don't see an update on the Cyberlink website. Seems like this must be an error.
hey N00b tha'ts not what he said he said that when disabling PowerRec, there was no decrease in quality didn't you read the review????
Have six Power DVD player software. Two Ver. 4 bought originally. They won't upgrade for them today. Want heavy duty money to buy or upgrade. Downloady is a dog that won't hunt. Save your time and $100.
OK program but I frequently use Windows Media player instead. Had to upgrade when I got Vista or I would still be using the older Version 5 OEM.
