I sometime may seem harsh and blunt when it comes to the search function, but when I do point it out, you can almost bet your life on it the answer can indeed be found that way
But is it OK to use, and will it work with USA writers (401240A specifically)?
Thank you

Yes, i guess itās (much)better than the US util, but Plextools may have
not as much options to perform, but Plextools is still growingā¦
And is easy to handle.
is plextools compatible with EZCD v5.1 running on win2k, sp2?
reading the forms it is compatible with CD Clone, so that is good. here in the US plextor distributes plexmgr which is crap and not well maintained. when 2K was new it fbarād many a windows installationā¦
big question is it worth installing???
thanks,
eric

You should ask this question the otherway-around,
and it depends what you expect of it, it doesnāt (yet) create
data backup, it does do in a execelent job in cd-copy
data and audio protection schemes, as well it does DAE also,
if this is all you want, forget the rest cloncd, etcā¦
you must take the name Plextools very serious: Plex Tools
Plex as in that itās tuned to deal with the Plextor hardware,
in a good tuned way, Tools as in that is not yet a complete
application, so you need for creating data backup, something
like Nero, if Plextools canāt run with EZCD EZCD maybe at faultā¦
but i believe no-one reported a problem in this directionā¦
If you have Plextor hardware, you should have run Plextools,
to have full controlā¦

I understand this, but not all people have the same (expert) skills, and i guess when they find a āPlextorā forum, they expect thereās somebody who can give a short, simple answer, and they donāt expect an unfriendly answer, or LIKE that, i guess you can in, that case, point them to Googleā¦
Whatās in Plextools?
Whatās PlexTools do that the USA software (Plextor Manager 2000) doesnāt?
Is there any point to get Plextools if you use Nero/InCD?
Does Plex Manager have options for āHide CD-R Mediaā and āOnly Read First Sessionā No Iām not mistaken PlexTools with CloneCD but these options can be found in the latest version 1.14. PlexTools also has a build-in audio player which can play CD-text, etc. http://www.plextor.be/English/technical/plextools.html
Well, iāve downloaded Plextools but unfortunately, it doesnāt work.
Says my wnaspi32.dll is out-of-date so I downloaded the new 4.7 ASPI layer from Adaptec (as well as downloading trying the one from Nero: Burning ROM) but the only thing that resulted in was having Plextools crash everytime I try to run it with a GPF in mcilau.dll (some Netscape media player file, though oddly enough I donāt have Netscape but I canāt delete the file).
Also caused a nice Windows error-type thing with it saying a program I ran recently replaced a system file with an older version. File being winaspi.dll, tried restoring the thing off the Windows cd with SFC but still get that message.
Argh!

When it says that your wnASPI32.dll is out of date,
thereās something very basic wrong with your setup !
⦠ASPI is always needed !
except in WindowsXP i guess⦠so install ASPIā¦for startersā¦
when you have a SCSI adapter in your system, installing
shouldnāt be a problem⦠when not⦠search for older versions
of ASPI ā¦
mcilau.dll is a audio cd player lib file Netscape/Windows should install this for you (correctly) otherwise, check your āsoundmappingā
if this is connected to the correct ādeviceā for your situationā¦
btw⦠when youāre using Nero, donāt worry about ASPI,
because Nero installs itās own version⦠but only Nero has access
to it.
When youāre using Plextor drives, use Plextools
for CD Copy, DAE or cd copy to image files functions,
for all other functions use Nero.
Plextools does a lot of settings for you, you donāt have to
think about, which you have to do with CloneCD, CdrWin, etcā¦
Can i get the full version? All the links here are no good. Anyone know a good link to go to?

install Plextools that came with your drive,
and upgrade with the above link (it really works)
(if youāre using Windows98/SE you need ASPI from the Adaptec site too, if you have no SCSI adapter, you can only install older versions of ASPI)
Success,

Dont know, i keep getting this message. Maybe its just not a good day for me.
Thanks for trying to help.
Difference between Plextools and Plextor Manager.
In my opinion, Manager is better for dae because you can settle the quality from o to 100 %. There is just a secure mode in Plextools.
I already had dae problems with plextools (scratched cd), never with manager. But manager isnāt good with audio protections.
EAC is good for both jobs but it can be very slow. When it is too slow, i use plextools with a 4x limit.
Sorry for that, i will look for an alternative (Plextools setup version)
