Hi. I am putting together my first system, and I need to get a SATA DVD burner. I have never owned a SATA burner before. Can you please recommend one that is reliable at burning? I will be burning mostly DVD+R, and sometimes CD-R. Right now, I have a Lite-On IDE drive, just got it, but it's been acting flaky, and I need a SATA drive anyways for my new system. I'll probably be getting it at either Newegg or TigerDirect, depending on availability.
As far as features, I want to be able to run quality scans, as well as scan for jitter. And something that is not totally riplocked would be nice. The biggest concern is quality burns, though. I usually burn around 6x-8x, using Verbatim DVD+R discs. Are SATA drives reliable? This might be a silly question but I thought I read a while ago that many SATA drives weren't so good. Any help would be appreciated.
