Please help! copyright protection getting in the way of backing discs up

i am trying to burn my copy of nba live 2004, one of my favorite games, before it gets all scratched beyond recognition
i downloaded alcohol 120% and it keeps getting disc read erros… i don’t know what’s going on, this is really confusing me, keeping me from preserving my game.
please give me some much needed advice!
thank you

Sounds to me like the game is protected by SafeDisc.
Scan you discs with A-Ray Scanner to determine the protection firstly.
If it does report SafeDisc as the protection, then the read errors are intentional and should be ignored.
They usually start around sector 800 and finish around sector 10000.

It’s an EA Sports game and is certainly safedisc protected but I’ve no idea which version of safedisc is used.

Your game uses Safedisc 2.90.040 as protection.

Check The CDFreaks Offline Help Guide for making a copy.

You’ll find it here

did you try dvddecrypter?

What difference would that make?
