Sorry I’m a major noob to all this. May someone please write me a quick tutorial on how I can burn my dvds? I cant seem to burn any movies that are from sony. I tried searching and reading through the threads but it doesn’t make any sense to me. My burner is a NEC 3520A and I am using clonedvd2 and any dvd 3.9.4.2. Could someone please link me to the programs that I can use dl to burn my dvds? and maybe write a quick tutorial on what to do. any help would be great. Thanks

dizlittle,
The process I’m going to lay out for you may not be to everyones liking but you asked for help and this is how I do it, After burning over 150 DVDs and I’ve had only 3 costers it works.

First: I use DVD_Decrypter to put the DVD on my hard drive.
the setting I use in mode is FILE to a directory of your choise (usually the name of the DVD) This will remove all copy protections.

Second: I use DVDshrink to shrink and reauthor the DVD to fit on one 4.3 gig DVD blank, Go to their web site they have good instructions there on what settings to use I use VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS settings

Third: I use ImgToolBurn to burn the DVD, My man coujo has one h*ll’va burning tool.

You’ll need to have Nero bunring suite V6.0 or later installed it uses the Nero burning engine.

I also use the latest verison of anyDVD it will detect and disable the latest copy protections

You can get these free programs from the following web sites

http://www.free-codecs.com/DVD_Decrypter_download.htm (free)
http://www.dvdshrink.org/what.html (free)
http://www.coujo.de/ (Download imgToolBurn 1.2.0) free
http://www.slysoft.com/en/anydvd.html

This site has a world of information

That is a lot more steps than I use. I just run DVDShrink first, then it starts DVDCrypter, and I’m done. Using good media on any of my burners, and my only coasters have been when I’ve tested with cheaper media.

I tried that and my first 25 burns resulted in 12 coasters, since I’ve been using this method only 3 and that’s due to bad media. But this works for me.

If that is what is working for you, than I sure wouldn’t change anything. With all of these different systems, firmwares, media, and software programs, it’s a wonder we ever get things figured out for everybody.

this is what i do as well…so far i have only made 3 or 4 coasters and i have burned over 100 dvds

@ dizlittle,

You state that are having problems making copies of your DVDs.

You are using a version of AnyDVD that is almost 9 months old.

Suggest visiting SlySoft (http://www.slysoft.com) and downloading the latest versions of AnyDVD-CloneDVD. Slysoft has a 21-day “Try Before You Buy” policy before you have to purchase their programs. You will find the AnyDVD-CloneDVD combination very simple to use and provides excellent results especially when using the most up to date versions of the software.

CloneDVD has a User Manual, which provides a wealth of knowledge concerning the use and operation of the CloneDVD2 software program. The CloneDVD Manual can be accessed in the following manner. On the CloneDVD opening page click on “Help” located on the top upper right hand corner on the opening page. The CloneDVD manual will appear.

In this day and age of continually changing encryption copy protection schemes it is imperative to use software that is continually updated and improved to reflect the improvements in encryption copy protection technology. Although DVDShrink and DVD Decrypter are free software programs I don’t believe DVDShrink and DVD Decrypter meets this criteria.

Best Regards,
bjkg

What are the movie titles, and what region are the discs? The last version of DVDDecrypter should do it for nearly all ARccOS DVDs, and the couple exceptions can be handled with a protected sectors list file. And supposedly if you keep up-to-date with AnyDVD, that will do ya also.

Hi: Another newbie here looking for help. I have DVD Fab Platinum, version 4.1.2.0 Copying a disk worked well until a disk I was trying to copy had and error on it, and DFW Fab Platinum asked if I wanted to use Pathplayer. I said no and terminated the program. Now it takes me 4 hours to copy one of my dvd’s. It used to take me only 20 minutes before I tried to copy the disk with the error. Can anyone help me? I have Windows XP update 2 and am using quality disks
