Have a problem. I made a copy of Half-Life: Opposing Force. The CD will not play on my home system. It says it cannot authenticate the CD. It will play on another system. Each uses a different CD drive (home uses a Samsung SC-140, the other is a Toshiba XM-6202B).. How do I get the Home system to play the CD?
I suspect that the game on the one system has been cracked, and the one on your home system has not.
I doubt it has anything to do with the cd reader unless you haver a faulty cdrom, game cd, or poorly cracked copy.
I’m guessing you are using a backup of the original cd (and like all good users have paid the programmers for all of their hard work!)
Hope this helps,
Install the game - Complete Installation.

i have done it with the cracked laxity loader, don’t know where to find it anymore cos I already have deleted that game of my HD. but that loader did the job, didn’t needed the cd, could play multyplayer on WON and everything worked, (imagine playing on WON with opp force even before the gam is in the stores, and even better, seeing that there were already some 2000 others playing it, guess they were all using “back-ups” of games not even released yet hehe
