So I have been very happy with blu-ray so far. This is a PC related question but please bare with me while I get through the PS3 part of my story
I opted to by the PS3 because of price, easy updates and well heck the game graphics are stunning at 1080p. I'm connected to a Vizio VW46LF 46" 1080p Full-HD LCD HDTV and I am connecting the PS3 to the HDTV via HDMI cable. Like I said this set up works beautifully.
Now I purchased for my PC, an LG GBC-H20L blu-ray reader for the purpose of shall we say... archiving?
Now my problem. I was layed off 2 months ago and was going to sell my PS3 since I could watch blu-ray on my PC. My PC's video card came with a DV_ to HDMI converter so I figured I would be able to do this. However the play back when connecting my PC to My Vizio hdtv is extremely choppy and I don't get the audio. My PC specs are below and I will include links where available. Can someone tell me where I may be going wrong? I find it hard to believe that the PS3 has more horse-power than my Workstation which is a modified Lenovo A52 ThinkCentre.
Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate w/ SP1
Windows Experience Index of 4.2
Intel Pentium D Processor @ 2.80GHz / 2.79 GHz
2.50 GB RAM
XFX/NVIDIA GeoForce 8500 GT graphics card
LG GBC-H20L blu-ray reader.
Any thoughts on what I could do to improve playback?
