When I play the movie The Siege, i get an error saying “Macrovision Distribution Failed. Playback stopped”. This happens when I use NVDvD, I can play the movie Resident Evil no problem. When I Use PowerDVD I get Error Code F4D41436 The TV Out port of your display is not working properly. I am using a Geforce3 Ti 200 made by visiontek with the 41.09 driver set. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Jim

@junny002: please don’t post in caps, this is shouting and consided annoying…

@jznomoney: I remember reading something about certain protected movies that couldn’t be played on a TV out because of the Macrovision protection. As I’m not sure of that, you may want to test if I’m correct. Just download Deamon tools and DVD Decrypter, rip The Siege to a ISO without Macrivision, mount it with Deamon tools and try to play the DVD. See what happens. Error gone? Than Macrovision is the cause of this problem…

p.s. as I’m not really sure about this, I might be offering you a solution that costs 100x more work than it should take… so please don’t get angry with me if this information is kind of useless!

When using the latest drivers from nVidia with somewhat older video cards, DVD Playback is disabled altogether. Try older drivers or screw nVidia and get an ATI card
