there going 2 raises the taxes on empty cd’s and with the extra taxes there going to pay the artists, right? Then everybody is going to buy their cd’s in another country…

In Holland there’s also tax on empty recordable cd’s, but it doesn’t make copying legal (unfortunately…)

This doesn’t make sense.
What if you use the recordables to burn data on, are the musicians getting paid then?
And does Madonna get a bigger share than Aqua?

This IS true … But it’s just not translated properbly. The danish “state?” is coming up with a proposal, but it’s not for free like it says. You are able to copy your music cds legal, but only for private use. Nothing else. And the prices on cdrs and cd burners will go up.

Good joke, it’s just a way to make you pay more… Are you going to pay more for all the other recordable media too? Like Minidisc, DAT, Cassete Tapes, VHS’s, Hi8’s and shit too ???

how much do u ppl pay for ur blanks anyway?
I pay 28p per blank on a spindle (thats the cheapest!).
Verbatims cost 55pence!

Pay taxes on blank CDRs and Writers? What if I’m not interested in music? I have to pay the tax anyway? Even if it iis my own music or data? Get a life!
