Buying a BDR-206M is in fact not a bad idea at all! Quite the opposite
From what I have seen so far, the BDR-206M is not only a newer drive (which means longer firmware support), but it seems to be a better drive than the older BDR-206 drives (and it even seems to already give slightly better burns than the BDR-205, in spite of the fact that the BDR-205 has now got a much more mature firmware) … check the burn quality comparisons from this page (click on the links on top of the page for different types of media): http://homepage2.nifty.com/yss/bdr206mbk/bdr206mbk_top.htm.
BDR-206M looks to be a very promising drive and is possibly the best Pioneer BD-RW drive released so far!
Does it warrant the extra cash for it though when wait a little longer can get it for 20% off? The conundrum hits “shall I wait or shall I buy” thing. Then a new model comes out again and back to square one. I stick to my 206 DBK for now .
