Does this mean it will finally burn onto DVD-R dual layered media?

It does indeed. Would have been good to see the full specs of the drive although I assume they will beidentical to the NEC 3520. Let’s hope Pioneer finally include bitsetting on this baby or else I’ll be going elsewhere! Anyone wanna predict the initial price for that internal blu-ray burner? My bet is on US$999

You may get a surprise…as Philips says they will have a drive in the market by H2 2005, who knows if they will not sell it at a quite average price…and charge you on the media? Look at DL, average price drives and expensive rare to find discs.

My guess is that the first PC drives for Blu-ray recording will be a little under US$500 in some markets.
