Hello All
New poster here in need of help. Hoping some learned soul will take pity on me and point me in the right direction.
My Pioneer DVR 109 is approx. 3 months old, I have copied CD's and DVD's successfully using it. I am running XP Pro (no s.p.2) and have already installed the latest drivers from the pioneer site to try to correct this problem.
My problem is that whilst putting together compilations of divx, avi etc onto DVD-R's to try and clear some HDD space I have found that these disks are not readable by the 109 but are readable by my old DVD Rom that is in the same machine.
Assuming I had been burning it wrong I have tried various different ways using Nero6 and Nero Express, burning as "data" as "ISO" etc. But always the same result, the RW will not read it but the Rom will.
I have tried reading friends compilations on a DVD-R and my RW can read them fine so I don't think it's a hardware fault. And I don't think it's the media I am using because the Rom will read it (I am using Infiniti Proffessional DVD-R if it helps anyone).
The only other info. that I can offer is that when I try to get the RW to read the DVD it changes the drive description in my computer to a CD Drive and says that the disk is blank if you right click the disk and go to properties. Which it obviously isn't becasue the Rom can read it.
Additional info. region code is set to unselected not that I think that has any bearing but...
So that's pretty much it really, no clue what to do next apart from throw the DVDrw out of my window and go and buy a different make, I bought his model because it was supposedly very compatible with almost all machines and media. So it could be User error but I have run out of ideas.
Please help, I'm bored of making coasters.
