Please help me :frowning:

You haven’t said what the “big problem” is…

Hi
I think the problem is media being described as 4x not 16x

I’ve no idea of the answer Sorry

Easily solved; he needs to update his firmware.

Hi
I’ve started assuming everybody is like me & updates f/w as soon as it becomes available

That tends to happen when advanced users group together into online communities like CDFreaks; we forget that most users aren’t like us.

The problem is that the Infiniti Professional are 16x speed dvd’s, but my recorder only see 4x speed.
Have been writing with 8 speed and there were no problems, same company same brand. Thats why i dont understand this, have done an firmware update tonight as “Two Degrees” say’s.
This is the resolt of the update from 1.05 to 1.40.

Sorry, wanted to let you all see the result, but don’t no how to put an image in here.

Did the same as the first scan with dvdinfo and this is th result after the update to 1.40

Thanks “Two Degrees”, it was indeed the firmware :iagree:

MCC03RG20 should be supported at 16x on the 109 drive starting with firmware version 1.17. Did the update not fix the problem?

Stupid question, but why not 1.57? Cross flash the devil and make it work for a living!

Well im allways a bit creepy about thinks like firmware update’s, because they can never be un’done. So what’s the different between the 1.40 and the 1.57, don’t no.

On pioneer’s website they only have the 1.50.

“Firmware Upgrade Ver. 1.50
Change! Readability is improved for DVD-R
and DVD-RW discs which are written using
the DAO (Disc-At-Once) method”

But don’t no the different, my english ins’t that good not even my writing. :o
But than again, i learn my english from television. At that time i whas young they didn’t have english on school.
Never the less, it works with the 1.40 so why change.

Pioneer has 1.57 here:

http://www.pioneeraus.com.au/computer/firmware.html

Generally, there are improvements for most newer media with current firmware so most people here update. There are some exceptions I have found with certain older media, most often 4X, so occasionally it makes sense to stay put. With all the problems Pioneer is having with 16X media I would almost always go to a newer firmware om the assumption that they are implementing fixes.

Not true. You can flash back and forth using DVRFlash 2.1 by LasVegas.

1.50 was the first more or less “mature” firmware for the 109.

You may be happy with 1.40… for some time, until you buy different media and get stuck with other problems.

Anyway each new firmware improves over the former, generally. Most 109 owners are happier with 1.50 than 1.40.

BTW, 1.50 has been on european’s Pioneer website since the 10th of july…

By Agent Smith and LasVegas.

…and others. I just tried to hold it short.

Sorry for not responding but have been sick.

So reading all your messages, it’s better to upgrade the firmware to 1.57
Have done an upgrade to 1.40 but the 16x media has the same speed
as the 8x, so i’ll will upgrade tomorrow to 1.57 with DVRFlash 2.1 by LasVegas
and see what will happend.
And thanks for letting me know it isn’t a one way ticket on the firmware.
I’ll will give you all the results friday night.

Thanks so far for all the help

How come that this link doesnt work??
http://lasvegas.rpc1.org/DVRFlash_v2.1.zip

Looks like the server is down. Maybe we’ll have news from LasVegas in this thread: http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=142963

The rpc website is down, second day now.

DON’T PANIC!

Code already explained while it’s temporarily down at the moment: The server is moving to a new location, this will take between 48 and 72 hours of time starting from Wednesday (10th August).

Be patient, rpc1.org will be back in a short.
