The A05 is the best affordable (aka best bang for the buck) DVD writer on the market and this firmware update only continues to prove it. Pioneer’s dedication to quality and to improvments is equal to only NVIDIA’s great driver support and since NVIDIA doesn’t make DVDr drives, that makes Pioneer the best in DVDr :stuck_out_tongue:

If you consider only the drives, NEC and Ricoh drives are cheaper now. 4x DVD+R and 2.4x DVD+RW NEC drives for as low as US$190 and 2.4x DVD+R and 2.4x DVD+RW Ricoh drives and other 2nd Gen. Plus drives for as low as US$150. I haven’t seen a Pioneer DVR-A05/105 for under $200 though some OEM drives made in China based on the Pioneer DVR-A05 cost now as low as $210.
