I have a DVR-212D, firmware1.21, which operates great with DVDs (both read and burn), and plays audio CDs with foobar2000, iTunes, etc.
But if I try to use EAC (lastest version) with SCSI Windows native or external, the computer locks up and I have to use the reset button. It is not possible to kill the EAC process from Windows. :a
I have also tried to update the firmware, but apparently that does not work as well. The updater does not seem to find the driver.
- Windows XP Pro SP2
- ASUS motherboard P5E WS Pro, BIOS v506, with Intel X38 chipset with ICH9 SATA
- Intel E6750 processor
- additional Marvell 88SE6145 SATA/PATA controller
The 212D is connected to the Marvell SATA. There are no other devices connected to the Marvell controller. RAID is not enabled. PATA is not in use. Hard drivers are connected to the ICH9 SATA.
Any suggestions regarding how to get EAC to work and flash the firmware are welcome.
