[qanda]This thread is about the Pioneer DVR-212. Click here to see full specs[/qanda]I’ve noticed few days ago that my Pioneer DVR-212 1.24 with bitsetting patch produces the same errors with the same values and localization on different disks. One thing they have in common is writing speed: 16x.

On following scans you can observe two characteristic PIFs. First about 2,6GB with value 7, and second about 2,75GB with value 5.

Verbatim DVD+R 16x Made in India, Moser Baer:

Verbatim DVD+R 16x Made in Taiwan, CMC:

Sony D21 16x, unknown manufacturer, physically damaged in transport

Coincidence? Is there something wrong with my burner? Or it is something related to liteon testing?

It is a known phenomenon for the combination of drives and write speed.

Discussion [applies to the 212, as they are basically the same thing]:Pioneer 112/112D/112L PIF Spikes should NOT be ignored!

Thanks, I was searching for such thread but had no luck. So we can conclude that burning faster that 12x on Pioneer is not a good idea.
