I have to buy a new burner and my choice is betwen: LiteOn DH-20A4P or Pioneer DVR-116D
I need that the burner can do dvd-ram, bisetting dvd+r, RPC1
I was reading that the Pioneer has more quality in writing and the LiteOn is not good as the DH-20A3P; so I ask you to advise me to do the best choice.

thanks

yes you can crossflash the 116D to gain what you require, for bitsetting and RPC1, use MCSE, crossflash, see the rpc1 thread below

I would like to know if is possible first change the firmware DVR-A16 1.09 with MCSE for bitsetting and RPC1, than crossflash my Pioneer 116D with this firmware using the DVR-A16 kernel.

DVRFlash -ff G: A0015430.104 A0015431.109

As far as I know at the moment no kernel file for Pioneer 116 is available only for 216. So at the moment no crossflash and no RAM writing for Pioneer 116D.

My question was about the possibility to crossflash the kernel ver. 1.04 with the firmware ver. 1.09

@ Maciste,

In reference to your above #5 posting suggest reviewing the below referenced "The Firmware Page” Forum posting titled “Pioneer Firmware/Kernel Files” and note Forum Member ala42 Wed Mar 12, 2008 7:44 PM posting comments concerning Kernel/Firmware files.
