This burner is significantly noisier than my last LG burner which i can reduce the reading speed to lower the noise through Nero DriveSpeed. However the program doesn’t seem to have any effect on the DVR-112. Is there anyway to reduce the reading speed? Or make it adjustable by Nero DriveSpeed?

If you Search the Pioneer DVD Forum for Forum Member koba postings you will find in his signature download links for his DVR-112 “Flash Package†which contains a “Patched†Pioneer Quiet Drive Utility that works with the Pioneer DVR-A12L. The Forum Member koba “Flash Package†contains an Insrturtions.Txt file that details DVR-112 Flashing instructions information and Pioneer Quite Drive Utility information ->

Unfortunately the above Forum Member koba “Flash Package†only provides DVR-A12L v.121 Firmware but using the Media Code Speed Edit (http://ala42.cdfreaks.com/MCSE) tool you can Patch Pioneer DVR-A12L version 1.24 Firmware (http://wwwbsc.pioneer.co.jp/device/file/DVR-A12-J_FW124EUJ.EXE) to be used with the Patched Pioneer Quiet Drive Utility.

Since you’re saying instead of following Koba’s method, i should use the Media Code Speed Edit with Pioneer DVR-A12L version 1.24 Firmware? Has this been done before? Any pros and cons with DVR-112 using the DVR-A12L firmware?
