Pioneer DVR-109 hangs during burning

I have some troubles with my brand new Pioneer dvr-109.When I’ve tried to burn a data CD,it just hung stil at 21%. The same happened with a DVD disc as wel - it just goet til 17-21% and stays there.Sometimes comes the message “invalid block adres”,but sometimes it stays at 20% for a 1/2 hour…
I’ve tried different speeds and discs- nothing helps! Tried new IDE cable and even new Windows instalation- no result! Did anybody had the same problem - please give some ideas :confused:

2 x 1024 DDR SDRAM(Dual Chanel)
Sony DDU 1621 DVD ROM
Windows XP SP1
NERO 6.6

P.S.I’m burning mostly with Nero (up to date!) and I DID tried other apps as wel - stil the same problem! Here’s one of the last Nero failure logs:

Remove InCD completely and try with another burning program, eg. Record Now Max.
Is the PSU strong enough?

The PSU is 550W Q-Tec triple fan.
I’ve tried with CD mate and WinOnCD - the problem stays.I’m curious about this Record Now Max ,but I stil think that it’s just a matter of HW settings or conflict.
By the way,UDMA mode is set to 4.

as chef says Incd can cause problems also if you have roxio installed that can cause problems with other burning programs

Chef,I don’t realy think that InCD got something to do with this.I have tested this very same Pioneer DVR-109 on other machine (Nero 6.6+In CD!!) and it works perfectly.
Your idea about IDE driver is interesting,becouse I’ve never had problems with my (very!) old Yamaha SCSI CD Writer. The problem is somewhere in my IDE channel (not cable,couse that one I’ve changed couple of times already!) I’ve been searching for IDE driver,but its hard to find IDE driver only…Pretty weird shit…I dont give up easily,but this one drives me nuts!

Sometimes the special IDE drivers coming with the mobo can generate big probs when it comes to (dvd) burning.
Time to test with the standard ones by m$ (coming with their OS CDs).

how many driver apear under the driver tabs of the device ?

I noticed you have the sony on the same ide controler, but it’s not DMA, try placing it as a slave on the HD or disable it. Delete the ide channel and reboot between the test.

Guys,thanks to everybody who spend time thinking about my problem!!!
The problem is solved: I’ve installed Stomp’s Record Max Now 4.5 and EVERYTHING is working VERY FINE.Big ap to Record Now Max :bow: - I don’t know how they did it,but they beat the emperor (NERO in this case) !!! To everybody with the simulair problem: just forget about Nero and try Stomp’s Record Now Max v4.5 - it realy works! TNX!!

bumping an old thread isnt always a good thing, but in my case it is.
Like Wentz here, Nero hanged on me while burning (and ONLY while burning this) Gundam 00 S2 episodes 1-18. I went through 4 DVD-R’s before googling some help and saw this topic.

Record Max burned it 1 dvdr, so…
