Hi,
I have 2 Pioneer DVR-108 (only one hooked up to my pc) and when trying to burn DVD+R media, just when its about 80-85%, the drive makes a diffrent sound, and ejects the worthless media. I’m using Roxio CD & DVD creator 6.
When I change the drive to the second one I have it does the same thing! Can someone help me?? Thanks

Please give details of the media you are using; if possible, the media ID code (found using DVD Identifier).

“worthless media”

Gives an idication of what is bad here.

Hi,
I am using some Memorex DVD+R, 16X speed. This is what turned out with the DVD Identifier:

Also…when I inserted the DVD+R disc into the drive, the icon in “My Computer” says CD Drive (D:), 0 bytes of free and total space. And with
DVD-R discs, it displays the DVD-R icon.
Ohh…by the way, any drive that stops recording at 80% ejects worthless media, as the disc is useless, thats what I ment with “Worthless Media”.
I’m not very good at this so, any help is appreciated!!
Thank You!!

Forget exploDer, only use a reliable burning app.

Because BLANK recordable DVD only needs to be RECOGNIZED by the burner and software, not being READ.

#6

What about the recorder damaging the discs before completely writing it?
Could anyone add a little info on this please?
Thank You!

#7

The discs are RicohJPNR03, which are pretty good quality so I wouldn’t start to suspect them.

Do you get any error message from the burning software when it stops?

Also, are you using external drives connected by USB or Firewire?

#8

Please use a REAL burning app like Nero.

#9

Well I got an error message, but unfortunately didn’t write down. I Don’t have Nero, but I have Alcohol 120%, but don’t understand it very much…and havn’t tried it. Ohh… and I don’t have any drives connected trough USB.
