Pioneer DVR-106D

Hi, i bought a pioneer dvr-106d about a week ago, i have burned a dvd before but it has always made errors. It reports as a power calibration error. I dont know what this means and dont know how to fix it, if anyone could help then it would be much appreciated.

This is usually due to very poor quality discs.

im using bulkpaq 4 speed dvd-r’s, are they bad quality dvds?

Can’t say without seeing the media ID code, they could be made by most anyone, but the odds are that they are not good.

they are made by bulkpaq, www.dvd-recordable.org

according to reviews on www.dvdrhelp.com, there are a number of manufacturers for that brand, mostly either Princo or Prodisc. Bulkpaq is not a media manufacturer themselves.

Princo has a pretty lousy reputation, Prodisc seems a little better. The only way to know for certain is to use an application to read the ID from the disc itself.
