Thanks for the link! I can’t really understand those screenshots. Do you mind telling me your opinion of the drive?
I also agree with this comment, not all people are SWITCHED ON

I am thinking of buying this writer or the Pioneer BDR-XD04. The rewritable discs are quite expensive where I live so I want to buy them from an eBay seller instead. They are Verbatim 25GB BD-REs with a printable surface. Before I buy them, I want to make sure that they are compatible with the drive. Can you tell me if they are? Here’s the link:

Pioneer lists a fairly large amount of media as being supported by this drive [direct link to PDF file of supported media]: http://pioneer.jp/device_e/product-e/ibs/device_e/pdf/BDR-XD04_FW110_MediaList.pdf

We’d have to make an assumption that the discs you are eyeing are, indeed, one of the disc models listed in that PDF (VERBATIM1, MEI T01, TDKBLDWfa, etc). You shouldn’t have any problem so long as the drive and media are functioning properly.

Thanks Albert!

I e-mailed the seller and asked if they could provide me with the MID. They stated that they were unable to but that the discs do work with the Pioneer BDR-XD04 as well as the Samsung SE-506AB.

Just to clarify my first post, when I stated “I am thinking of buying this writer or the Pioneer BDR-XD04.” I meant I was thinking of buying the Samsung SE-506AB or the Pioneer BDR-XD04.

I managed to find a writer compatibility list for the Verbatim discs:
http://www.verbatim-europe.co.uk/pdfs/BD%20Writer%20Compatibility_1.pdf
It mentions the SE-506 but not the XD04.

Oop, sorry about the unnecessary move, then.

Hmm, well, seems you should have good luck with these discs. :iagree:

Also, Verbatim’s list has not been updated in some months. It does not list some newer drives, and I’m sure the XD04 hadn’t been out for long at the point this was released, hence the drive’s exclusion.
