Not as good as MEIRA1 could be, still pretty good result.

Well, the not so good results continue, have to see whether this 50 pack is as “bad” as the previous one, although this is not an actually bad result, but considering CMC can do much better, it’s rather disappointing.

So, with the changed power cable from the 212M after the five failures, there doesn’t seem to be a power problem, this looks quite good, too. I’ve no idea, will continue to check what’s going on with these discs and the 212.

My first attempt with VERBATIMe as a potential replacement for Panasonic MEIT02 and MEIRA1, looks good, but I expected better with the 208.

BDR-208D has no dvd-rom booktype option?

This is not the kind of quality/result I expected with these discs, quite disappointing for the 208. I’ll try the 212 next time @ 4x.

Yes, your results are higher than expected for VERBATIMe @6x on the BDR-208 scanned at 4x.

For comparison:

Andascanned at 8x:

You won’t get better results than a 208 for this media. Here is my best result with the BDR-209 written at 4x and scanned at 4x:

Ignore the jitter readings, that just has to do with scanning on either a 1st or 2nd gen drive. 2nd gen drives erroneously report a higher jitter.

Yeah, I know about the jitter issues with the LiteOn 2nd gen drives, that’s why I never do a jitter scan.

Regarding the quality we’ll see. My 212 gave pretty good results with VERBATIMf dual layer discs at 4x, on the other hand I can try 4x with my 208, too. I could also check what my old 206 thinks about this media.

Looks ok for 208 series, could be better, but the latest CMC discs in these Verbatim 50 packs have a little higher quality range within the same pack.
