Does anybody know if there are any compatibility problems with any standalone dvd players and the pioneer a06 as i wish to back up my dvd collection and ps2 games and im not sure if this is the best burner for the job.

I have had no problems yet
Have not tried Ps2.

Backed a a few of my movies and tried when on a few dvd playes
Pioneer (3 years old), Centrex (cheap), Rowa and another unknown cheap brand!
All of them played -r dvds and the unknown brand would not play the sound on a +dvd the rest were fine.

Hope that helps

How long it takes on A06 or 106 to write all 4.7GB on 4x? On 2x? Does it overheat? Noise? Any possitive sides and negative ones?

Anything I should be aware of before getting A06? Like compatibility with media and/or something else? Any BIOS modifications? Other?

I own a DVR-A06u

actually I cant burn @ 4x (princo 4x and verbatim 4x)

Going to try other media tonight. maybe it’s a media problem, maybe it’s just a bad dvd drive.

Burning @ 2x is fine.

@slysy: when you say problems: what king of problems is it?

1-dvd burn fine, but cant read?
2-computer hangs?
3-DVD burn fine with CRC errors?

there’s a topic going on another forum discussing about the A06u with nero…check it out…check the nero print screen…I got the same… notice the speed test.
