Having frustrating problems with my Pioneer A10XLB (DVR-110).
It's taking around 16 minutes to burn a 700Mb CD and around 24 minutes to burn a DVD, even though it reports the speeds at 40x (CD) and 8x (DVD).
My rig is a Dual Core AMD 3800+, an ASUS A8N SLI Premium NForce mainboard and 2Gb Corsair TwinX pro RAM and it's connected as a secondary device under the primary IDE channel with an 80 connector cable.
The IDE/ATAPI controller reports the NVIDIA Nforce Parallel ATA Primary Channel (slave drive) transfer mode as Ultra DMA 4 - Ultra66 (same as BIOS).
Previously I had it connected to a P4 2.2Ghz machine and it ran exactly the same slow speed.
The firmware has also been updated to the latest 1.39 and I've also tried various different types of media.
Can anyone please help, I'm completely baffled as to why it's running so slow?
