Pioneer 11D. Getting error "The request could not be performed because of I/O error"

Just replaced my old Pioneeer 107D with a 111D, all I did is swap it over. THe Drive is on its own on the secondary IDE CHannel.

Got 2 HDD’s on 1st IDE Channel, 1 as Primary Master and other as Primary Slave

THe 111D is the Secondary Master, nothing on Secondary Slave.

Anyways the problem is when i try and copy files from a dvd with the 111D, it goes verrrrrry slowly, light on the drive flickers on and off and eventually I get a error messege saying;
“The request could not be performed because of an I/O error”

I noticed if I put this drive into ‘PIO only’ mode it works, but not DMA Mode 4 otherwise I get this error…

Any ideas whats going on?

As I said I didnt change any settings or jumpers, just replaced it with my 107D which worked fine on DMA Mode 4

Faulty Drive?

Thanx guys

Meh it looks like it was a faulty plug, looks like it was easily exposed to DMA Mode 4, as the 107D was only on DMA Mode 2 :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Got it on the 2nd IDE Plug and its working fine now…

Hmmm might just end up buying another IDE Cable as I Will be filling both plugs soon =/

Ohwell :stuck_out_tongue:

Nice fix.
