Pioneer 111D Sata Equivalent?

[qanda]This thread is about the Pioneer DVR-111D / DVR-710. Click here to see full specs[/qanda]Hi Guys,

I have a Pioneer 111D which i love unfortunately i just upgraded my case (antec twelve hundred) and my old 111D is beige and look awful. I cant find any places that sell replacement face plates so im thinking its just going to be easier to buy a a black stata drive instead of messing around with dismantling it and painting or searching high and low for a replacement face plate.

My question(s): i have my eye on a SATA Pioneer DVR-216BK. Are there any problems with SATA drives? I use my 111D mainly for backups and ripping/burning the odd PS2 backup. Will this 216 handle this. If not could you please recommend some good SATA alternatives if any.
