Help! if i burn another coaster today i swear to God almighty im gonna slit my wrists with the damn thing.

ive bought a new drive, a pioneer 110D to replace my aging NEC 2500, all was going well but since yesterday i havent been able to write a single disk. whether its a DVD or CD, i get the same issue.

heres my nero log.

each links good for 25 downloads of my log, if it runs out, just let me know.

the media i am using is as follows

the cd is generic 32X, they have been working great even though they are cheap, but i only bought them for data transfere and short term backups as opposed to long term storage.

the DVD brand is TuffDisk:

Unique Disc Identifier : [DVD+R:PRODISC-R03-003]

Disc & Book Type : [DVD+R] - [DVD+R]
Manufacturer Name : [Prodisc Technology Inc.]
Manufacturer ID : [PRODISC]
Media Type ID : [R03]
Product Revision : [003]
Blank Disc Capacity : [2,295,104 Sectors = 4.70 GB (4.38 GiB)]
Recording Speeds : [1x-2.4x , 4x , 6x-8x]

[ DVD Identifier V4.2.0 - http://DVD.Identifier.CDfreaks.com ]

The drive itself is flashed to the latest firmware and DMA mode is enabled and running. The drive is on IDE line 2 on its own. the drive is on the last connector of the IDE cable and set to master.

i hope that helps.

For long term usage I advise to kill your drive instead of killing yourself :).

First update Nero 7!!!

Does the drive run in UDMA4 mode??

Trying with other media is also a good idea…
