Pioneer 110D - 16x error

Many people in this forum know the problem with the pioneer 109 and 16x media, the media burns up to 100%, but in synchronising Cache it just hangs at 0%(DVD decrypter) I was full of hope when i bought 2x 110D drive, and the firste 8 burns at 16 times went well, no 9 failed, no 14 failed, no 20 failed.
Its not good Enough Pioneer. I've tried with both verbatim DVD-R and Taiyo Yuden DVD-R media, same error ... Damn ....

I generally Use ty media at 12x and this drive won;t let t02 go 16 so I will have to go purchase a 16x spindle of something tommorow and i will give it a whirl so far Its doing wonders as long as I avoid alcohol as it has issues perhaps its a software problem for you as well? Mine failed many times to Close at the end in alcohol...

You have got to be kidding me. This new drive has the same issue as the 109? This is rediculous, the only reason I wanted a 110 was because the 109 does not burn 16x media as it is stated it does. Man, I dunno what to think now but this is BS. Buying a 16x CAV drive just to overburn Z-CAV 8x at 12x max. Unbelievable.

screenshot or not from what he describes this is exactly as the 109 was doing. I don't think anyone posted a screenshot of this problem on the 109 yet more than a few confirmed the same issue. I was the one who started that thread thinking it was just me but soon found out that was far from being the case. My dad has a 110 I'm going to get him to test out some 16x media and if this problem happens even once I will never buy the drive.

Sure I can make a screenshot, but not much to see, DVD Decypter just hangs at synchronising at 0%, no way to close the program, the computer has to be shut down. As the error rarely came at the first burns, i've bought a new cabinet, the cooler master stacker, with a good air flow(lower tempeture), just to see if there is any difference. I'll let you know in a few days.

Have You Tried using Different Software I had issues with alchol Closing discs properly sounds simmilar to dvddecrypter Perhaps Try Some OTHER software ? since i was able to remedy my issue by using nero it burns properly.

Havn't tried other software on the 110, but I've used several with the 109, all with the same problem, there is another thread describing what software people has used, I think nearly all burning apps has been tried, this is in my opinon a hardware problem.

Yes, with the 109. With the 110, it's too soon to draw conclusions as yet (even if I suspect we'll find out that the problem lies in some part common to the 109 and the 110, but "benefice of the doubt")...

Is this problem "write-type" specific (SAO or PW)?

yup that is exactly what the 109 does. Seeing as though you had no screen shot originally when asked about this proves that this problem has occured again for you to be able to take the screen shot. Not a one time thing I'm afraid.

I've only tried SAO, I'll try switching to PW and see if there is any difference.

No, have had this error several times on the 109, finally switched back to 8x media, no problem with this media. The error is simular on the 110D. I'm stunned that pioneer hasn't solved the problem on the 109, but I was 100% sure that the 110 wouldn't have this error ... but sadly it seems to have it.

Its not DVD Decrypter. The author was informed of the issue before he was shut down and did some thorough testing on it. He said it is the drive itself not DVD Decrypter in any way. I've tried SAO and PW with different ASPIs and same issue. I've also tried several versions of Nero and Prassi Ones with the same problems. This is with the 109 not the 110.

I can confirm this, I personally posted in the Decrypter forum when digging into the "lead out" issue with the 109.

Nero here as well as Decrypter as well.
