I have been reading some posts about the ripping speed using DVD Decrypter and the limitation to 2.4-4X that the image extraction has. Is this only on the Pioneer drive or are other new burners have this issue? The reason I ask is because I had a Liteon combo DVD/CD-RW drive and never noticed this before.
I also looked at some posts to make the 109 into an A09 to get around this but I'm a little paranoid because of what happened to me a few weeks ago. I patched my Liteon with a 12X patch so that all of the DVDs would read up to 12X. The only problem is that a week later my drive suddenly stopped reading DVDs and when ejecting the discs would still be spinning when coming out. Now it may be coincidence that this happened but I don't want to chance it on a new burner I just got, so I'm trying to stay away from unsupported patches. Is there another burner, perhaps the Plextor or NEC where this isn't an issue? Does anyone know if there are any plans to resolve this?
