That sounds incredible. It’s a shame that everytime that I hear something incredible like this, that it never shows up for the consumer.

It’s a shame that everytime that I hear something incredible like this, that it never shows up for the consumer.” Probably because it is so expensive that no one would be able to afford it except for goverments or large businesses. Usually, the technology emerges like that and then years later it trickles down to the consumer level.

Wow. A 1-liner explanation. That really sheds some light on the subject for me. Now I have a deeper understand of how this new technology actually works. This truly is the information age.

It’s really about slowing down photons … they are even able to use them to line them up as an image or something like that - was on slashdot a short while ago
