Phillips 8701

I bought this Dell 600XPS almost 2 years ago. When I first got it I tried to use the DVD (Phillips 8701) to burn some Verbatim DVD+R DL (Advanced AZO) 8X speed. I managed to coaster all 5 disks. Needless to say I didn’t try again. Now before my warranty is up in April I want to try again to see if a different brand DVD DL will work. If not I may ask Dell for a new drive or convert to the Benq 1640 firmware. Has anyone had success with a certain brand of DVD DL’s?

Thanks

Does that burner really support burning DL?

If yes, then only try with Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4x.
