I just got the player and I really like it, for the cheap price it does play wonderful and also fast loading avi’s, the only thing that bothers me is that I cannot remove the timer in the TOP right corner from the screen when its playing avi movies, on DVD’s its fine its doesnt show any timer, but somehow only avi’s shows it and I wasnt able to remove it when I click display, if anybody knows please guide me in how to resolve that issue, Thanx in advance
I had a very hard time figuring this out myself until I found the answer here.
Press Display ONCE, then use the Up and Down Arrow buttons to cycle.
Once you get it so that it’s only asking for a time to jump to and the OSD timer has disappeared, press Display one last time and you’re all set.
It’s a really nice player with great features, but the instruction manual and the ease of use leave a little to be desired.
jayp01 - Thank you for the post. I just received my Phillips DVP642 and it installed easily. The timer in the right hand corner was annoying. I did as you stated and it is gone. Thanks again…
